Tiffany Hall for Coroner

Background

Having spent her early childhood years in Blue Mound before her family moved to the big city of Decatur, Tiffany has been a lifelong resident of Macon County. Reared in a working class family, her strong work ethic was instilled early on by her father, who provided for his family by working on his hands and knees while literally laying the foundations for local businesses, infrastructure, paving roads and pouring sidewalks as a Union Concrete Mason. Her passion for helping others was first nurtured by her mother, who frequently brought home stray or injured animals and often went out of her way to make friends with those who seemed to need one the most. With strong roots in work ethic and deep compassion for others, it is no surprise that she chose a career in Nursing.

Tiffany’s passion for learning about different cultures and her desire to better understand the healthcare challenges for developing nations led her to Kenya in 2007 where she volunteered at an orphanage and medical clinic. She returned to the same community in Kenya multiple times over the next five years. Inspired by a desire to better connect with her Kenyan community, she chose to further explore healthcare perceptions of Kenyan students by conducting a formal research study while in the James Millikin Scholars program at Millikin University. Moved by the work being done to improve the lives of the children at the orphanage where she volunteered, Tiffany wanted to do more to help, so she worked with other volunteers to start a locally based nonprofit organization whose mission is to help provide nutritional, educational and medical needs for the children at the orphanage.

Locally, Tiffany is known by her patients and colleagues as a fierce patient advocate and one that holds a firm belief in the philosophy that if we can do better, we should do better. Throughout her nursing practice, she has demonstrated a commitment to this standard by initiating educational outreach with local healthcare facilities focused on minimizing the risk of urinary tract infection among nursing home residents and collaborating with providers and administrators to help provide local access to a cutting edge procedure for prostate cancer patients that wasn·t previously offered in our community.

After more than a decade of service to her community as a nursing professional, Tiffany now wants to do better for her community by serving you as Macon County Coroner.
